Appearance & Mannerisms

Body: Cecyl appears mostly to be Viera in every way except his facial features, which are gently chiseled with a distinctly Hyuran pointed nose. He does not have a tail (unlike many Viera characters in canon). His figure is fairly tall, fit and muscular as one would expect from a swordsman, though not extremely buff. He has long, fluffy white hair and fur with light blue frosted tips. His eyes are blue-violet and lips are tinted violet.

Mannerisms: His movements are proud, calm, polite, confident, even a bit stiff normally, with a somewhat effeminate and graceful gait. He tries to follow etiquette, and turns shy easily in intimate, romantic, or certain social situations. When nervous he will avoid eye contact, turn his face away, fidget with his fingers, kick his feet, or brush his hand through/play with his hair.

Voice: His voice is breathy and high-tenor, prince-like with a sweet and comforting feeling.

Behavior

In Battle

Cecyl is stoic and attempts to make others around him feel at ease. He is used to taking the lead in a team of adventurers and often speaks motivationally to others who display feelings of fear or uncertainty. He would never be the type to leave someone behind, always doing his best to ensure the safety of even total strangers that he comes across. He tries to be patient and strategic in battle, but sometimes misses steps from over-reliance on his strength and his somewhat airheaded personality. He could be bested in combat by someone more clever, even if they lacked strength or skill to match him.

Toward strangers

He is polite and straightforward, but a little shy to open up to others, or to commit social "crimes" in unfamiliar cultures. Despite that shyness, he is usually trusting of others until they present to him a good reason not to. He tends to go along with suggestions and social pressures both because he wants to avoid offending and finds it easier than making his own decisions. He's quite open to trying new things, so there's unlikely to be any harm done.

Toward friends

He is protective and will drop everything to help them. Cecyl is always willing to fight a battle for a friend in need, including an emotional one. From a friend, he seeks loyalty and supportiveness. He will spend a lot of time with a friend he can learn from or shares his strength and morals. He likes to enjoy his favorite activities with friends if he can, preferring it to being alone.

Toward crushes

He will behave shyly, but at the same time do his best to make his feelings and attraction known.

Toward lovers/partners

The ideal partner would be someone he can lean on for strength in some way, be it physical, mental, or emotional, when he doubts himself or loses his usual strength. He will show weakness to a partner that he tries to cover up around strangers. As for his love languages, he is very intimate and likes to express love physically, as well as enjoy dates and quality time together privately. He would feel unloved by someone who did not do much of either.

Toward enemies , traitors, or nuisances

He will bravely and righteously put a stop to enemies and nuisances when enough is enough, but has trouble dealing with betrayal. He would not be able to face treacherous behavior by a close friend with the same conviction and bravery, and would be unsure at first how to react.

Job/Income: Cecyl makes a very humble amount of coin from leatherworking and beginner adventurer's gigs as well as occasional courtesan work. He isn't very wealthy and sends a large portion of his money to his family every moon. His goal is to build up a savings for his mother to retire on, since she will likely outlive both himself and his father by a few hundred years. The rest is spent on things he enjoys or saved to open a leather shop one day.

Magic: While he posesses an inclination toward light and healing magic, and can perform some healing spells, magic is not his forte and he can not do much in the way of destructive magic and no aether manipulation.

Physical: Cecyl is a low-power character with a promising amount of strength and endurance for a novice adventurer. He can handle a broadsword or shortsword well but is not trained much with other weapons. Since he isn't the sharpest intellectually, he relies on tenacity and strength in a fight.

Senses: His physical senses are all normal as one would expect for an experienced swordfighter. His hearing is sharp, as is normal for a Viera, and he has almost no sense for aether.

Transportation: He can make long trips on foot, but will accept mount, airship or boat travel when available. He can use aetherytes freely inside a short distance but is prone to sickness after even a single trip between cities.

Languages: Eorzean Common (fluent)

Performance & Arts: He has tried dancing but has no skill in any particular arts.

Psychology

In part due to his childhood isolation and his strength in battle, Cecyl can be quite naïve and walks into more danger than he should. He is a quiet and pure-hearted soul, with a somewhat shy, conservative nature. Despite his love of steamy romance novels, he often feels embarrassed about matters of sex and romance and represses desires since he grew up around rather prude attitudes. He prefers his public reputation not be one of a pervert or an easy bedmate and fears shame for it, so he keeps his night job as a courtesan low-profile.

He does not like being seen as a bad or immoral person; He is self-conscious about doing the right thing and being nice or at least pleasant and not a bother in any situation. This may be because of his near-complete lack of companionship as a child, and it could even be said that he suffers from 'people-pleasing' to a degree.

Cecyl respects his hardworking parents deeply and has made it his goal to help them. He is still very young and has yet to give thought to what he wants for himself. He does not really have any personal dreams or goals, and seeks to discover that through adventures and social interactions. He lacks self-awareness and is still developing.

He has poor social skills and though he wants to make friends, he often feels too awkward to approach people. On the job, however, he has no problem holding a conversation or sharing his ideas, and doesn't mind taking the lead of an adventurer's group. His labor-class upbringing lead him to see as value directly related to what he can offer others, though he believes the world would be better with more compassion. He believes that mistakes should be forgiven, and that it's better for society overall to try to reform criminals rather than to punish the bad guys.

Jobs:

As a freelancer, Cecyl is always ready to take on jobs for a hired sword, no matter how mundane. He also works as an intermediate leathercrafter, hunter, and courtesan for those offering enough gil.

Heroic deeds:

Sometimes, a sense of duty calls. When someone is in trouble, gil isn't always on his mind. Cecyl is willing to raise his sword to help those in need, even if it comes at a cost to himself.

Romance & Friendship:

This lonely bunny would certainly welcome a good friend of the with- or without- benefits kind should they hit it off. Someone who enjoys his personality and pure heart, who balances his lack of self-awareness and foresight would be good for him. A mentor of sorts or sparring partner to help him grow stronger or learn more of his crafts would also be a good fit.

Work Partners:

~ Story Thus Far~

Born to a Viera gleaner mother and Hyuran sellsword father in Sharlayan, Cecyl grew up poor and constantly reminded of the vast differences in wealth that some people experienced. He was an only child, often left alone with his many fantasy and history books. Though his parents loved him, they were always busy working. His father taught him to fight with a sword and hunt, and his mother taught him to craft with leathers, both of which he continued to study as an adult.

Spending enough time at pubs relaxing after a hard day's work or looking for more leads taught him that a pretty coin could be made off of drunken lustful men (and sometimes women) with his androgynous good looks, bringing him to his occasional night job as an independent courtesan.

His current arc is about development, growth, and self-discovery. He began to explore the nightlife and culture of the city-states, and although he felt out of place, he was determined to learn how to make the kind of gil that he hears promises of. He joined a nightclub as a dancer and courtesan, learning what he could by observation about sales, dancing, fashion, and appealing to wealthier and more well-adjusted folks than he was used to. Now, he has more or less left the club industry to work independently and focus on refining his leatherworking skills. He has almost saved up enough money to open a shop.
